A Pleasant Surprise (Or Not-So-Pleasant for Some of You)

Just when I'd given up hope on finding a kuwagata youchu (stag beetle larva) in the wild (see yesterday's post), I found one! It was just inching its way along as I was walking next to the beach. It's a smaller variety of kuwagata than the one I purchased, but still cool. I can't wait to see what little "Choki (Scissors)" or "Chokette" turns out like!

To see a new post about 2 large and mature kuwagata, visit the Bug Brothers.

And you were complaining about the kids bringing bugs home. Looks like they are just following their moms lead.;)

Well, someone has to set a bad example now that you're gone. ^_~
