Bad Judgement
In preparation for our return to the States, I've been discussing with the kids how we're soon to board a big airplane to make the long journey. I was hoping that talking about it would help ease any tension they might otherwise have about flying. It appeared to be working, and they were even getting excited about the ordeal...until tonight. I made a HUGE parenting error: I decided to rent a DVD. The movie was supposed to be more for me than them--I just wanted to make sure that it was something that wasn't inappropriate for children so I could watch it while Jared and Everett were still up. I ended up choosing a Jodie Foster movie, which I thought that I would enjoy, and that there wouldn't be much swearing or any love scenes. The good news is that there was no inappropriate language or love scenes. The bad news is that the movie was Flight Plan, about a mother whose child is abducted during a flight to America. What was I thinking?! Now the boys are terrified. Both of them have already been sleeping on my futon with me since the night their door was mysteriously open. I was wanting to break the trend tonight, but after they watched that movie, there's just no way.

:
Are you CRAZY!!!
Oh dear... Maybe just point out that the Mum always wins and saves the day and luckily, they will be with you!
That was an interesting movie...definetely not one I would have suggested before flying alone with children.
TJ: I tried to point that out and also explained about it being just a movie, our plane being smaller, them sitting together with me with their seatbelts fastened, etc. They seem to be doing better now, and last night I had my futon to myself--Yay!
speaka: Hopefully they'll forget all about it before the time comes. We'll see.
For future reference, you can check out http://us.imdb.com to get info on movies.
At least you didn't watch Paseenger 57 or Executive Decision ;)
Thanks, killdeer. I love imdb. But it's not that I didn't know what the movie was about--it was just absent-mindedness.
I see.
Oh, hey. I was going to tell you a few days ago I saw someone here wearing a shirt with Emily the Strange on it. I couldn't remember at first where I'd seen that, but then I remembered it being one of your sugoi sites.
HAHA - Oh dear...Maybe final destination would be a good movie...then again maybe not :-P
GOOD LUCK with this
