MISSION: WHITE DAY
Today is White Day. Formerly called "Marshmallow Day", White Day is a holiday originating in Japan. It began when a marshmallow company suggested that men repay the women who gave them Valentine chocolate with marshmallows the following month. Somehow, cookies and chocolate also became traditional gifts for the holiday. Today I will tell you a story of a boy on a White Day mission.
THE MISSION: To make some young ladies happy by presenting them with tezukuri (homemade) chocolate chip cookies. One lucky lady will also receive flowers.
THE AGENT: Jared, an 8-year-old armed with the skills to charm the ladies.
HIS SOMETIMES ACCOMPLICE: Everett, a 3-year-old whose sole weapon is his deadly cuteness.

Jared looks a bit apprehensive at the first door. (Actually, he looks like he's thinking, "Why are you making me do this, Mom?")

MISSION DEBRIEFING: As you probably guessed from my pictures (or lack thereof), none of the girls were home!!! We ended up either leaving the treats in the genkan (entryway) or with family members who were home. Jared has already received an appreciative phone call from one of the girls who told him she wants to have him to her house for a sleepover. (YIKES!) So the main mission was a success, although my photo mission wasn't. (;_;)

I can change your name back, if you want. It's not that your rep's changed, it's just that I find "ShimonoBecky" quite catchy and I can't very well use it on Yamaguchi Becky, can I?

Maybe if i have the title it will inevitably come true???!!!or maybe not... how about shimonobecky j-boy magnet??ha ha, i always found that title funny as its based on one tiny incident 3 weeks after getting here...ah fond memories :)
