Got Aspirin?
Right now I'm supposed to be grading original English stories written by my students. I should have them finished by now, but I keep taking breaks due to the terrible headache I'm developing. Why would grading stories give me a headache you ask?
One reason (an excerpt from one of the stories):
"However, man and woman to vessals in princes and palaces were desperate because the princess was very beautiful and beautiful every day when it was liked by the princess."
Another reason:
"The intention stayed on earth of the snowman when was he was interested in other worlds went out of the snowman when was."
And another:
"It has gotten off getting on the object like the bubble when Tomoki is omitting the waist."
They're all like this! HELP!!!!

theyre hilarious- good luck with them :-) i hate having to correct kids work too much, but when its as senseless as that...!!

oh god, my classes are doing exactly the same thing. I'm now regretting my enthusiasm to help after seeing those - there is no doubt I will be marking them.
can i pass them on to you? you'll be a pro by the end of it all.
Heck no, I'm not going to grade yours! Although you are right that I should be a pro by now--I even once had to proofread a JTEs Masters thesis. Now THAT was a headache. At least I got paid 50,000 yen, though.
I totally feel your pain....I'm doing the same thing with 200 ichi-nensei essays. The worst part is that the theme of a third of them is how to save the rain forests. Good luck!

No, I don't do that, either. But it would be nice.

becky: Yes, rain forests and world peace are always common (boring) themes. A lot of my students write about Doraemon, too.
PGE: Yes, I've seriously considered doing that. Sadly, I doubt anyone would even notice.
