The Name Game Continues
THE NAME GAME SEMI-FINALS ARE HERE!!! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, refer back to my December 20th entry.)
Here's how it works: I have divided the semi-finalists into 3 different groups, making up 3 seperate surveys, rotating randomly in the right column (renew your screen to view a different group). Vote for the name from each group you feel most befits me. The resulting top names will be entered into a final voting round. The finals will begin when voting starts to become stagnant.
If you have a name that's perfect for me that you failed to submit, go ahead and let me know about it. If I like it enough, I may slip it into the finals.
MAY THE BEST NAME WIN!

:
woo-hoo!
BTW, your poll only shows up for IE users. Someone did some sloppy Javascript, I think. Hate it when they do that.
Nonetheless, I voted. I actually don't recall what I voted for, but they were good.
anata no kazoku no kurisumasu no shashin wa totemo kirei desu! omoshirokute kawaii desu!
And I'm *NUTS* for that Japanese-inflected "Visit from St. Nick"! I wish like heck I'd had that before Christmas to show my classes. I may do it anyway, just for fun.
Cheers,
PGE

He's right. I don't see a poll so I'm going to offer up an alternate name as a wild card.
I choose: Rae
You have a dignified bearing and 'rae' is a sub-root of the old-english word for Raven (hraefn), which is in my opinion a suitable animal in terms of look, mental acuity and mysteriousness. And it's attractive, easy to say, short, and not childish.
It might also appeal to you that it looks vaguely Japanese. Or then again it might not. :P
Are you really changing your name or am I just playing into your little game?
PGE: Thanks for the compliments, and thanks for voting. There seems to be a problem with blogger today, but after it's fixed I will change the polls if people are still having problems and it's not too far into voting. I suspect you are right, though.
Jess: Funny you should mention the name "Rae"--That's my middle name. The problems I have with it are:
1) It's more common meaning is "Ewe".
2) When people hear it, they hear "Ray" as in "Ray Ramano" or the guy that changes the oil in your car.
I have privately considered Reika or Reiko, but was told by a close friend that it would probably hold me back from getting jobs because some people wouldn't know how to pronounce them from their spelling. I'm still kind of thinking them over, though.
And, yes, I am serious about changing my name, although I reserve the right to not choose the resulting winner from this game, should I not be entirely happy with it. (Thank gosh this game is not legally binding!)
Oh, and I've been meaning to write you that I still want a comic book of yours.
Phew! That's one of the longest replies I've ever written.
So do I have to vote again?
