Fruits & Vegetables
Besides rushing an injured child to the hospital as described yesterday, I also did a couple of other things over the weekend, including visiting a nearby mikan orchard and attending our town's furusato (old hometown) festival.
Those of you have have been to furusato festivals know that they are pretty tame: vegetable displaying/vending, traditional dancing and drums, food, drink, and a bit of livestock; nothing too exciting. However, I did get an interesting palm reading for free from a professional fortune teller. He told me that I would work my way up gradually to a large salary (obviously not as an ALT because we never get raises). He also told me that a life-changing event would occur during my thirties. I'm 31, so basically, my life could drastically change at any moment. He didn't say if this event would affect my life for better or for worse, but that it would be a huge change. I'm sure he would have gone into more detail if I had offered money, but I wasn't sure how much detail I could understand in Japanese. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Funny looking yuzu (Japanese Citron). I especially like the one on the far right.
My hubby touching some large daikon.

WOW! Those yuzu's are HUGE!
Tell me about it! Giving birth to the one on the far right was no picnic! ;)
Vegetables - Rabbit food!...Meat all the way I say :-)
Pete
Shh, Pete! Don't be such a bad influence on my kids!--I have enough trouble getting them to eat their veggies.
