Super Sized Students = Gentle Giants

My high school's claim to fame is its nationally-ranked sumo team. One would think that sumo students would have personalities equivalent to those of American football players. Not so. These natural-born leaders are easy on the machismo and heavy on the kindness. Their teddy bear dispositions make the classroom environment more enjoyable for everyone.

Below is a picture that was taken yesterday at the cultural festival. The sumo student featured is only in his first year of high school, but he is probably about 6'4" (193 cm), and weighs at least as much as my entire family combined (including my husband, who is not pictured).
